From Skater to Creator:Michael Kuluva

What do you do with most of your old clothes? Toss them out? Leave them in the closet to be forgot? Well not Michael Kuluva, a 25-year-old Los Angeles native who spent much of his life as a professional figure skater, now turn designer have taking going green to a new level. How you ask? With Tumbler & Tipsy, a fashion label that was founded earlier this year, features only reconstructions of old clothing and fabrics. Kuluva sources the vintage fabrics he uses from different outlets, most from vintage vendors in Los Angeles. With fabrics going back as far as 1920s in England, France and even Russia. When asked why start a green label he have this to say “I started the company because there’s a void in the industry for a green product that uses vintage clothing and reconstructs it into something brand new and modern,” Kuluva said.
Tumbler & Tipsy’s clothes can be found online or in boutiques across the nation.
